Kindergarten Teacher Deb
Our “Kindergarten” Program is individual based, utilizing a Saxon Language Art & Math curriculum, as well as, meeting the Idaho State Achievement Standards and beyond. Given developmentally appropriate opportunities the students learn to make good choices, to explore new options, and come to see themselves as capable individuals with useful skills and ideas.
Deb Wardall is our “Kindergarten” Teacher. She is Program Director and co-owner of the Learning Center with her husband, Jon, who is our Combo Class Teacher. Her philosophy is to encourage both parents and teachers to enable children to be secure and self-sufficient using a “Love & Logic” approach.
As the Kindergarten Teacher, Deb looks forward to the daily challenges of her students, as they discover and enjoy their own personal growth.
Teacher Deb believes each child is a unique individual who should be encouraged to develop at her/his own pace, while believing they
“can do it”. She takes pride in providing a nurturing/accepting environment where students enjoy learning by play and discovery, as well as, adapting to the structure of a classroom. Students learn a variety of self-help skills, enjoy listening centers in the adjoining library and individual time with their Teacher daily.
Teacher Deb has over 15 yrs. experience working in education. She has a positive perspective, as well as, genuine empathy and compassion for children and their families. Teacher Deb has been teaching the “Parenting with Love & Logic” workshops for the past 10 yrs. and facilitates them at the Learning Center in the Fall and Spring.
Prior to the creation of the Learning Center, Teacher Deb worked at North Idaho College and Trinity Lutheran Church as Director of their childcare centers. As a multi-grade level Teacher, she worked with her husband in a remote village called Akhiok on Kodiak Island in Alaska and taught Kindergarten in Post Falls.
